Final Fantasy Football X-3 Tutorial
Welcome to Final Fantasy Football, hosted by Sleeper. I am your commissioner Chorby and the coach of Chorby's Boys. We have spent the offseason celebrating our Most Glorious victory at THE GAME WITH NO NAME II: "We really did get here huh". I want you all to be even more glorious than me someday so I've made this column to better explain our league's rules; the stronger our teams are, the more glory the league is worth in the eyes of the football gods.

To play a game of football you need players. Every team will have 11 players to fill any of the three positions they can fill: Offense, Defense, and Kicker. All eleven players will play NFL football in the beyond-plane (unless they are injured) and depending on how they play in that game those game statistics will be turned into points for your team. Your players' points will always fill the best slot they can: So if your team drafts two Wide Receivers, a Tight End, a Running Back and a Quarterback but that Quarterback scores less than the rest of your team then we will only tally up your best points possible from the accumulation of all eleven players, the rest will be automatically Benched where they score no points.

Your first four slots are your offensive players, these players throw, run, and score touchdowns while their team is holding possession of the ball. Any offensive NFL player can be used in those slots and a Quarterback can be used in the final slot. You will most likely draft multiple Wide Receivers and Runningbacks to fill the bulk of your team. You can't go wrong with a clutch Tight End though either. Just generally, keep a tight end clutched firm. The next two slots are where any defensive player goes. These players do not possess the ball, but if they manage to for any reason while trying to stop the offense from moving their football downfield, they will ALSO accumulate offensive play points including touchdowns. The positions for this role will most commonly be linebackers, cornerbacks, or defensive linemen. Defensive players are much more swingy than offensive players, sometimes you get five points, and sometimes you get thirty-five points, but they are much more plentiful around the league so if you know someone's about to pop-off in a matchup then it becomes less risky to trade for them or draft them from free agency. The final role that needs filling is the Kicker. I don't know what a Kicker does in Football, but they are a slot this year so during the last round of drafting, grab one and fill the slot.
To get your players, show up to our league's draft at sleeper.com on Sept. 8th. 5PM Pacific Daylight Time - there we will do eleven rounds of drafting until all of your team slots are filled. I will also be streaming the event on twitch.tv/chorbySP and we will be in Discord as well so there are many ways you can join along live for the draft. If you can't show up to the draft or don't want to participate in that part that is completely okay, a bot will choose for you and they have always been kind and just to those who can't make it for any reason. As far as tactics go, choose with your heart, find names you recognize or think are fun. Start with choosing a Quarterback, fill out your offensive players, then your defensive players, and finish with a kicker. It isn't uncommon for someone to draft a player and find out they aren't actually playing regular season NFL football for various reasons, so make sure to check in with the app at least once a week to confirm your players are all healthy and currently playing Football. If you are still unsure about how to draft, try a [Mock Draft] in the Sleeper App to practice how to draft!

You don't have to worry about fielding, as the way scoring works you will always get the best mathematical outcome from your team so always aim for your best. However, if your players aren't up for playing you may need to drop them, trade them, or replace them with a Free Agent. Check to see if your player is predicted to make points. If they aren't, there is almost always a note explaining why attached to every active NFL player. The most common reasons why your player might not play is a player's team having a Bye Week (not playing for one week), an injury (injuries most often last four weeks and at worst can be entirely season ending for a player), or they've been benched/demoted and are not in as many plays anymore.
And that's the core rules to Fantasy Football. You don't have to know any rules to NFL football, as many of us don't. You can just watch number go up! However, the football gods always smile down upon the ball knowers, and that can come in many flavors: such as last year when Coach QuincyBeoulve drafted Bobby Wagner and Russell Wilson to The Gae Bulg based on a Spongebob meme and then ended up being a major contender for the Most Glorious Jr tournament at the end of the season. It could happen to you too! As of right now, we're all undefeated again.
